Ever wanted to talk to Temple about the sensory issues people with autism, Asperger's, PDD and sensory processing disorder deal with?
Here, in this handy volume, Temple gives an overview of what it's like to have sensory difficulties and autism and tells how she overcame her own sensory issues. She gives useful tips and answers your questions in an easy-to-reference Q&A.
Temple Grandin, PhD, is an American professor of animal science at Colorado State University, a best-selling author, an autistic activist, and a consultant to the livestock industry on animal behavior. Diagnosed with autism at the age of two, she was labeled with brain damage. Grandin did not begin talking until the age of four, and she was the "nerdy kid" classmates ridiculed. The winner of many honors, she is the subject of an award-winning, 2010 biographical film, Temple Grandin. She was listed in Time Magazine's list of the one hundred most influential people in the world in the "Heroes" category.
